UNC Health Care OP Pharmacy Technician II – Inventory Specialist in Durham, North Carolina

Summary:
The Certified technician provides general support to the pharmacist by receiving, reviewing, compounding and dispensing medications. All work is carried out under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
This position qualifies for our Pharmacy Technician Incentive Program, which includes $5000 in commitment incentives spread over a two-year period. Payment is made after six months, one year, and two years of employment. Responsibilities:
Maintenance of pharmacy physical drug and supply inventory in pharmacy and warehouse, being able to lift at least 50 pounds.
Maintenance of pharmacy perpetual drug and supply inventory in pharmacy data management systems.
Assist billing team with inventory related requests to complete payment collection efforts.
Assists 340B team with information associated with drug purchasing and invoicing.
Leading of all inventory efforts and regular audits for financial or future audit prep.
Confirmation and scanning of compounded products into pharmacy data management system daily and on demand.
Reporting of drug and supply purchasing and invoicing during and at month end.
Ordering of all drugs and supplies needed for pharmacy operations daily and on demand.
Shortage management of pharmacy drugs and supplies along with shortage team and pharmacy manager.
Maintain communication and build relationships with local distributors and manufacturers.
Along with any other duties assigned by the pharmacy manger that may come up involving inventory or purchasing of drugs or supplies.

Education Requirements:
● None required as long as other position qualifications are met.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
·CPhT from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
• Pharmacy technician experience: 1 year (Preferred)
• Pharmacy technician experience: 1 year (Preferred)
