City Of Durango Distribution/Collections Technician in Durango, Colorado

POSITION: Distribution/Collections Technician

DUTIES: * Inspect, maintain, and replace water meters to ensure proper operation * Maintain water distribution and wastewater collection systems, including hydrants, main lines, and sewer lines * Conduct sewer line inspections, maintenance, and repairs; lay new water and sewer lines as required * Operate pneumatic and hand tools; light equipment and trucks; and heavy equipment, including motor graders and heavy wheel front-end loaders during snow plowing and removal operations * Perform pumping station maintenance * Locate and mark water and sewer lines * Respond promptly to emergency callouts and repair needs

REQUIREMENTS: * Equivalent to completion of high school or GED * One year of experience performing maintenance work * Must obtain a CDL within six months of hire date * Must obtain and maintain certification in Water Distribution and Wastewater * Collection within one year of hire date * Knowledge of general construction, maintenance, and repair related to water and wastewater distribution and collection systems * Commitment to delivering excellent customer service and following safety practices

PREFERRED SKILLS:

WAGE: $18-39-$23.91 / Hour

SHIFTS: Monday-Friday 08:000 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
