TKDA Professional Engineer, Civil - Roadway & Utilities / Municipal in Duluth, Minnesota

Our employee-owned and multi-disciplined team of engineering and design professionals is looking for a Professional Civil Engineer to manage Roadway & Utilities / Municipal projects! TKDA's roadway/utilities team optimizes planning, design, and construction activities to control costs and mitigate risks to the project and the public. In this role you will have a direct impact by leading projects that will improve the infrastructure of MN communities. We take a "Seller-Doer" approach to business development. You will collaborate with the Civil Group Manager, Market Managers, and the Vice President of Surface Transportation Engineering to further advance our services and enhance our reputation by contributing to the development of marketing plans, cultivating / maintaining relations with clients and agency representatives, tracking prospective opportunities, developing proposals, and delivering client presentations. Any travel would be related to site visits or community meetings within the Duluth and northland area. Position is hybrid: 3 days in office / 2 days WFH Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in civil engineering. Professional Engineer in the State of Minnesota. 5 -10 years of related experience supporting design and inspection for roadways, highways, sidewalks, utilities and/or other municipal projects. Strong working knowledge of the project development process including coordination with other disciplines during design and construction. Experience working with regulatory agencies, and knowledge of the permit application process with FEMA, DOT, DNR, and state / local government entities. Experience and understanding of AutoCAD Civil 3D used to develop concept plans, grading plans, and designs. Ability to apply effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills when developing proposals, negotiating project contracts, preparing technical reports, leading project team meetings, and delivering client presentations. Provide Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QAQC) reviews for civil projects. Must possess a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record. Advantageous Qualifications Professional registration in additional states with a preference of Wisconsin, South Dakota, and Iowa.
