Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required in counseling, social work, psychology, education, or health care area.
Possess personal qualities of honesty, flexibility, approachability, enthusiasm, and sense of humor.
Demonstrated ability to develop positive mentoring/coaching relationships with a diverse, at-risk student population.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Specific skills-based competencies to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job; demonstrated interpersonal skills, technology skills, and oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability working with social services and organization of individual and family services.

Basic Function:
Support at-risks students in their pursuit of an education in the Dubuque Community School District.
Develop and maintain relationships with students that focus on overcoming barriers to success.
Performance and Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain communication links with community agencies that serve homeless, neglected, delinquent, and disengaged students.
Maintain accurate records (confidential and non-confidential) of all contacts with various client groups, support personnel, and agencies in the community for the purpose of providing an up-to-date reference and audit trail of services provided.
Work with students, staff, parents, and guardians for the purpose of evaluating situations, solving problems, resolving conflicts, referring to appropriate professionals, and in general supporting students throughout high school.
Conduct transcript, academic, and behavior data reviews for each identified student for the purpose of personalizing services for each student.
Assist in the development of an intervention plan for each identified student for the purpose of insuring students’ success in meeting graduation goals.
Assist in the transition of students from elementary school to middle school and middle school to high school.
Others duties as assigned
Terms of Employment:
201 day contract (includes 7 paid holidays); $24.21 per hour; 7 hours per day
