As part of this role you will be a part of highly creative and efficient CSA & Security BIM team tasked with tackling the most fascinating and challenging problems in designing, constructing, and operating Amazon owned Data Center facilities globally.

Key job responsibilities

• Executing / maintaining Architectural, Civil, Structural (ACS) BIM models. Working with Global BIM team Maintaining various BIM models across APAC and EMEA jurisdictions

• Creating Concept designs based off existing AWS templates for regions to allow consultants start specific projects using the most up to date information.

• Reviewing consultants Structural & Civil models, ensuring Information Models meet AWS standards and are following the Exchange Information Requirements (EIR).

• Work with design consultants on in flight projects in multiple geographical locations, from design through construction providing guidance on AWS requirements.

• BIM Oversight of the CSA aspects of the Data Center life cycle starting with design, construction, and maintenance of Data Center BIM models.

• Working with AWS Infrastructure Delivery Team / Real Estate team to produce conceptual site test fits for new regions to determine suitability for future projects.

A day in the life

Our BIM Designers create / maintain AWS ACS templates. They partner with consultants on projects, guiding and overseeing processes to produce CD deliverables. They ensure the ACS consultants adhere to AWS BIM standards. As part of this team you will carry out ACS documents reviews on in flight projects to ensure the highest standard is delivered and working with the wider AWS ACS teams to discuss process improvements, document standards, innovations and project obstacles. This role enables our BIM Designers to partner with the AWS Real Estate team to carry out site masterplan schemes to enable the most suitable sites. Our BIM Designers are capable of working with minimal oversight, have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and maintain high working standards. Flexible to design changes, able to adapt to fast-paced drawing execution requirements, our BIM Designers define problems and dive deep on ambiguous design requests. The role will require you to work with a Global mindset as your work will cross between EMEA and APAC regions.

About the team

You will work with our internal BIM Design Services Team, Internal Design Engineering teams and external consultants to innovate and drive standards during the design stage of projects, leveraging all aspects of the Model capability to help consultants deliver efficient coordinated designs to IFC stage.

Basic Qualifications

• 8+ years of cumulative experience in Industrial or Commercial Structural model and drawing production of critical facilities / Large industry

• 8+ years experience using Revit for producing Structural engineering models and drawings

• 8+ years experience using AutoCAD to produce architecture or engineering drawings

• 5+ years experience of working with multi discipline teams in an structural coordination role – shows strong ownership of projects,

• 3+ years of experience working with Navisworks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Structural / Civil Engineering with Familiarity with EMEA or APAC building codes

• Civil 3d Capabilities / experience would be of benefit. Understanding of mechanical and electrical services in datacenters.

• Proficient coordinating Structure with mission critical systems.

• Experience directly related to Data Center design and construction

• Experience and knowledge applying Lean principals to design modeling and drawing production and experience with large scale designs
