GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Shortage Control Analyst is responsible for analyzing and reporting shrink results. Key responsibilities include: Assisting in the analysis of all shrink-related initiatives, providing ROI analysis for current and new shortage initiatives and pilots, developing new shrink reports for business units, conducting in-depth data analysis to identify root causes and recommend alternative actions based on logical assumptions, and running reports to track program progress and identify process and systemic shortage opportunities. Finally, the Analyst will be expected to attend local store inventory events to gain a deep technical understanding of the store and vendor count processes and systems, becoming an expert in how Physical Inventories are executed.

The base salary range for this role is $75,700 - $113,650. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Manage databases and report information and statistics on shortages and the measures to reduce and eliminate shortage.

• Perform ROI analysis based on various current and proposed shortage initiatives. Current initiatives include store protection specialists, merchandise protection equipment, shipment of high-security merchandise.

• Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify root causes of shrink concerns and communicate findings to field and corporate business partners.

• Run Optimal analysis after each physical inventory to determine the type and quantity of tags needed to improve shrink.

• Build cubes, reports, and dossiers using Microstrategy Self-Service to report information and statistics on shortages and the measures to reduce and eliminate shortage.

• Conduct ad hoc analysis requests from all departments.

• Attend local store inventory events

• Produce monthly Shortage Control reports. Provide actionable feedback and reports to field operations. Partner with cross-functional groups to develop best practices.

• Cross-train with other shortage team members to prepare and distribute various shortage reports for backup reporting needs. Be able to provide actionable feedback and reports to field operations. Partner with cross-functional groups to communicate exceptions and findings.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Accounting, Finance, or Business Degree preferred

• 2+ years of experience in financial / business analysis (retail experience preferred)

• Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to solving problems with large data sets

• Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in work output

• Excellent customer service skills and ability to problem solve on the spot

• Strong fundamental business skills - must be Excel and PowerPoint advanced. Power BI

knowledge is highly desired.

• Prioritize multiple competing projects under tight deadlines

• Financial (including ROI analysis) and statistical modeling skills

• Retail store experience and/or working with field organization preferred

• Good oral and written communication skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

This role requires regular in-office presence, including attending in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work.#LI-Hybrid
