About the Role:

An opportunity has arisen for a Lifeguard to join Wild Wadi Waterpark. The purpose of this role is to ensure the safety of all guests and visitors in and around parks, pools, or beaches by maintaining the 10/20 or 10/3 (open water/Beach) rule as applicable. Always maintain a professional, responsible, attentive, and watchful demeanor to ensure that no water areas are left exposed during operations hours. Responsible for monitoring the pool/Beach/Waterpark area and enforcing safety regulations,

responding to emergencies and providing first aid when necessary.

The main responsibilities are:

• Always maintain a professional, responsible, attentive, and watchful demeanor. Greet each guest and visitor with a warm welcome where applicable

• Caution guests regarding unsafe areas. Rescue guests in danger of drowning and administer first aid

• Maintain order in swimming areas. Conduct or officiate swimming meets and give swimming instructions

• Clean the swimming pool. Identify any issues with the swimming pool (water temperature etc.) and coordinate with Lifeguard Supervisor who will inform the engineering team to fix the issues

• Patrol the designated swimming areas and look after all the guests in the water. Promote a fun and relaxing atmosphere for guests

• Ensure that all swimming rules and regulations are followed by members and guests, and lifesaving techniques are used to deal with any safety issues or emergencies successfully

• Operate the rides and attractions in compliance with the manufacturer's instructions and regular operating procedures. Use approved operational dispatch procedures to guarantee that all guests and visitors are dispatched in the most efficient and secure manner possible

• Ensure that all lifesaving equipment’s are in good functioning order and always ready to use

• Exhibit a polite, helpful, and happy demeanor while effectively communicating with our Guests and Colleagues to fulfill the Jumeirah Vision, Spirit and HEART of Jumeirah, and SBU Mission Statement

• Provide professional lifeguarding services at Group’s, SBUs and exclusive events when needed and assist the supervisory team (as needed and instructed) in the preparations of facilities for special functions, themed evenings, etc. contributing to organizational success.

• Communicate effectively with other lifeguards, management, and other staff members to ensure the safety and security of all guests and visitors

• Attend regular training sessions and stay up to date on all safety procedures and regulations

• Perform related tasks and duties as assigned and deemed responsible by reporting manager

• Ensure that high standard of personal hygiene and grooming are strictly observed and followed

• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets

• Adhere to departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions enabling delivery of luxurious service to guests and in line with Jumeirah standard of excellence

• Adhere to all relevant Health, Safety and Environment procedures, instructions, and controls

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

• Higher Secondary School Certificate or equivalent

• Regional or International Lifeguard Training Program License (Ellis and Associates - preferred )as deemed necessary

• Shallow Water Certification with Swim Distance 50 yards/meter

Dive Brick Depth Retrieval: 5 feet (1.5 m) or less Underwater swim 10 feet (3 m)

or

• Pool Swim Minute Certification or Shallow Water Certification(as deemed necessary) with Swim Distance 100 yards/meter Dive Brick Depth Retrieval: 8 feet (2.4 m) or deepest facility depth designated Tread without use of arms & hands for 1
