TEKsystems Active Directory Engineer in Downers Grove, Illinois
TEKsystems has a client that is looking for an Active Directory SME to help them drive governance, compliance, and create M&A playbooks.
Please note, since this is a mid-sized environment it is rather common for this team to pick up additional responsibilities and wear multiple hats.
Responsibilities:
• Be able to Design, implement, and manage Active Directory (AD) infrastructure, including domain controllers, DNS, and Group Policy.
• Monitor and maintain AD health, performance, and security.
• Perform regular AD audits and ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards. Implement changes based on third party audit findings.
• Troubleshoot and resolve AD-related issues and provide technical support to end-users.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate AD with various applications and services.
• Plan and execute AD migrations, upgrades, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Develop and maintain documentation for AD configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Group Policy Management: Consolidate and review Group Policies across the organization to streamline and enhance policy management.
• Organizational Unit Restructuring: Review and support the restructuring of Organizational Units (OUs) to enable effective group policies.
• Access Control Lists (ACLs) Management: Review and modify Access Control Lists within Active Directory to enhance security and ensure proper access controls.
• Create and maintain system documentation for domain technologies, including installation, configuration, and appropriate troubleshooting steps.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in Active Directory administration and engineering.
• Strong knowledge of AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and related technologies.
• Experience with AD migrations, upgrades, and disaster recovery.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Familiarity with identity management solutions and security best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with Azure Active Directory and hybrid environments.
• Knowledge of other identity management solutions (e.g., Okta, LDAP).

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $70.00/hr.
