Description We are offering an opportunity for a Public Senior Accountant in Downers Grove, Illinois. This role involves managing accounting functions, utilizing software systems and Microsoft Office Suites, and providing bookkeeping functions. The successful candidate will be comfortable interacting with various types of people and will use technology to perform their duties.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain strong accounting background and perform general accounting duties.
• Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end close.
• Utilize Accounting Software Systems and Microsoft Excel for financial tasks.
• Exhibit good communication skills in interacting with various types of people.
• Comfortable with technology and able to adapt to different software systems.
• Contribute as a team player in a cooperative work environment.
• Provide documentation and maintain financial statements.
• Use Acumatica and Aspire for specific accounting functions.
• Use Microsoft Office Suites for various administrative tasks.
• Perform bookkeeping functions and maintain accurate records. Requirements • Possession of a minimum of 7 years of experience in a public senior accountant role or similar.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in general accounting and bookkeeping functions.
• Proficiency in using accounting software systems.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites.
• Experience in preparing financial statements and documentation.
• Familiarity with Acumatica software will be considered a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar professional accounting accreditation is preferred.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently.
