Citigroup FX Operations Team Leader in Douala, Cameroon

Team/Role Overview
The FX Operations Team Leader is an intermediate supervisory level position responsible for providing leadership and direction for the activities performed by the Market Ops analysts in Cameroon, Ivory Coast and Senegal as related to FX trades processed by trading desks and branch offices in coordination with the Operations - Transaction Services team in those countries and including Gabon. The overall objective of this role is to ensure the seamless and timely delivery of FX transactions according to the regulatory requirements in those specific countries, and be the Markets Ops SME for these countries.
The role requires strong engagement and collaboration with Central Bank at mid level.
What you'll do
Execute Market Operations transaction processing related to FX Settlement < Regulatory reporting.
Responsible for handling and pre-arrangement all documentation and depositing/sending same through the flash drive to the Central Bank in the framework of the re/pre-financing process.
Monitoring of unsettled FX trades done by Markets Front Office staff.
Reconcile and confirm the receipt of LCY and FCY from the Central Bank.
Act as checker for all the regulatory reporting pertaining to Markets activities in West & Central Africa.
Formulate procedures, techniques and contribute to the development of new techniques that increase team productivity, ensuring entire team meets or exceeds performance goals.
Serve as an analytical and procedural expert, and as first point of escalation for Junior staff members, management and internal/external clients.
Escalate control gaps and issues to senior management as needed.
Identify control gaps during settlement cycle and implements appropriate solutions to mitigate any risk or control losses.
Analyze data to identify control deficiencies and resolve discovered issues through implementing appropriate procedures.
Act as an advisor to new/junior staff.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
What we'll need from you
Extensive relevant experience
Experience in a FX transactions processing role in a top 5 local investment bank and or regulatory institution governing FX Pre-Financing and Cross Border FX activities
In-depth knowledge of settlement cycle concepts and procedures to resolve settlement issues with the central bank
Previous people management experience
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
