Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Day to Day Responsibilities
Provides day-to-day technical support & problem-solving for production, development and research operations, like localization, material substitution, etc.
Trains operators and trades personnel on new equipment and processes
Uses rigorous processes and technical knowledge to build detailed technical understanding for key process steps
Functions as a team member or team leader on focused projects
Trouble shoots material, process and equipment issues, identifies root cause and implements corrective action
Implements and documents material, process and/or equipment changes
Ensure the manufacturing process is aligned to the documented standard
Ensure manufacturing operations executes the process to the global standard
Continuously monitor and analyze process performance data to provide early warning of deviations and ensure process is operating to expected global standards
Identify, propose, and evaluate changes to the process to improve control, stability and efficiency
Implement local changes to the global process standard in accordance with the global change management process
Create and modify fixture, assembly, and flyer drawings. Create and modify drawings as part of raw material specifications
Establish new Bills of Materials (BOM) and update existing BOM’s as required
Uses simple statistical tools and Designed Experiments (DOE) in process problem solving and process improvement; Uses more sophisticated statistical tools and DOE techniques in problem solving and process/product improvement
Supports new product introductions through equipment installation, process certification, documentation and training
Develops SME knowledge of material, process and/or equipment in focused areas of manufacturing or engineering
Drive continuous improvement of existing products and processes
Complete assigned projects that include product evolutions, process improvements, and modifications to existing products to meet customer requirements.
Support of production, quality control, and purchasing by evaluating discrepancies with materials, communicating with suppliers, and troubleshooting as needed.
Meet plant cost reduction goals through process and productivity improvements and efficiently managing consumables and operating supplies
Support other manufacturing functions assigned by supervisor from time to time
Work to comply company objectives and goals on Safety and EHS requirement, obey all company EHS rules (Include: Policy, Procedure, SOP and other requirements)
Other tasks supervisor assigned
Ensure compliance to company EHS requirements within plant IT (Include: Policy, Procedure, SOP and other requirements)
Education & Experience
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent technical experience or equivalent experience (exceptional case)
At least 3 years experiences in mechanical engineering or other related manufacturing engineering area including process, material, control, mechanical and other related knowledge.

Track record of delivering results
Demonstrated knowledge in a technical field
Project team membership
Familiar with ERP system.
Familiar with quality, EH&S management system such as ISO9001, ISO14001.
Familiar with process/quality/cost control and improvement tools such as SPC, DOE, FMEA, TQM, IE, seven quality tools, MCV etc.
Good written and oral English communication.
Good PC skills such as Microsoft office.
Good people communication skill.
