A Workover Rig Diesel Mechanic is to perform preventative maintenance checks and repairs on workover rigs and equipment to ensure equipment is running within proper limitations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform diagnosis of problems on workover rigs and auxiliary equipment based on reports from the field; use appropriate diagnostic tests and interpret results.
Perform required repairs based on troubleshooting mechanical equipment.
Perform routine and moderately complex scheduled maintenance or repair work
Repair and maintain workover rigs and mechanical equipment, such as motors, transmissions, mud pumps, swivels, wranglers, crew trucks, dog houses, etc.
Disassemble machines and repair or replace broke parts as well as clean and lubricate parts
Inspect completed repairs by less experienced mechanics.
Perform preventative maintenance inspections including DOT annual inspections
Work in the shop or in the field depending on company rig operating procedures
Requires the ability to work extended hours in the shop or in the field, in all types of weather conditions when dispatched for repairs and maintenance
Must be able to drive a company vehicle and hold a valid driver's license
Maintain log book of all equipment repairs, services, adjustments and work performed
Understand and comply with company, customer, and health/safety policies, and any other regulations that are required.
Reports any and all incidents immediately.
Able to work in all weather conditions
Performs other duties as directed by management.
Required Skills
Must possess knowledge and understanding of well service/workover equipment
Must be familiar with rebuilding, inspecting and repairing equipment including hydraulic, electrical and overhaul of engines and transmissions
Ability to assess and troubleshoot equipment failure
Must be able to work in fast-paced environment
Must possess organizational and problem-solving skills
Must be able to lift 60 lbs. and handle physical demanding work
Must be able to communicate using oral and basic written communication
Must pass a Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol screening and participate in the random testing pool
Must pass a background check and motor vehicle record check
Arrange for reliable transportation to and from work

Work Environment
This job primarily operates in an indoor work environment but may occasionally operate in an outside environment. The role occasionally works in all weather conditions, including but not limited to: extreme wind, rain, cold, heat, etc.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work as job duties demand.
Licenses & Certifications
Valid Driver's License
Must possess or be able to obtain Class A or B License
Pay
$28-$35 per hour. Pay Type: Hourly
