R1 RCM Product Design Lead in Detroit, Michigan

As our Product Design Lead, you will manage a product design team and oversee the creation and development of engaging, functional, and innovative features and products. Each day, you will ensure value delivery, ease of use, and the highest level of quality, craft and execution.

To thrive in this role, you must have a full range of people management skills, product design strategy, strong leadership and communication skills to develop and maintain engaging relationships with associates, clients and customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Deeply understand the vision and business objectives of the value stream to own and execute the domain design strategy

  • Provide the team with direction and support for successful results

  • Advocate and manage the design workflow within the Agile environment for development of products from concept to deployment

  • Implement established best practices, design patterns and component libraries

  • Develop and maintain strong, productive relationships with Operations, Data, Product and Engineering to ensure that design goals and objectives meet desired outcomes and stakeholder expectations

  • Engage, collaborate and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure that design projects are aligned with company goals and business priorities

  • Foster a unified team of designers by facilitating team-building exercises that promote leadership, mentorship, and a culture of inclusivity, with the goal of achieving optimal performance.

  • Demonstrate active listening, effectively give and receive constructive feedback to nurture individual talent through coaching and performance management

  • Drive a design perspective in business development activities, including proposals, presentations, demos and pitches

  • Continuously evaluate and make recommendations to improve the product design process and systems

  • Create training materials, documentation, presentations, and videos that educate internal and external teams on design process, principles and practice

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to travel up to 20%

  • 6 years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree, or higher in Design, Design Management, Product Management or a related field.

  • Proven experience in design operations, project management, or a related role within a product design environment.

  • Excellent communication and high emotional intelligence, with the ability to build positive relationships with team members and stakeholders.

  • Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making

  • Leadership qualities, including the ability lean into challenges to make things better, mentor and inspire team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work culture.

  • Problem-solving skills to address challenges in cross-functional collaboration and optimize processes for better outcomes.

For this US-based position, the base pay range is $45,000.00 - $99,991.00 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
