Principal Financial Group Client Services Leader in Des Moines, Iowa

What You'll Do

As the Client Services Leader , you will manage a division and lead direct reports within our Client Administration space in a manner that ensure high quality, efficient service, to attract and retain profitable clients in our target market.

  • Customer Service/Consultation: Provide advice, expertise, and mentorship to staff, peers, and/or customers on sophisticated issues. Use creativity, analytical, problem solving skills and in-depth knowledge for successfully arriving at solutions for retaining clients at risk and resolving sophisticated client issues across product lines. May be involved in business trips to maintain excellent customer relations as well as resolve problems. Consult directly with clients, prospects, distributors, and group field force to promote our existing products and services and gather feedback that can be used to develop and improve products and services. May serve as account executive on large cases for $25 - $200M, and/or Stock Service plans $25-$200M.

  • Leadership: Communicate vision and empower, develop and retain staff to meet global business strategies in an efficient manner. Identify and mentor individual contributors with the highest potential for development.

  • Operations Management: Communicate and coordinate division goals and objectives that direct reports can effectively implement appropriate strategies to attain goals and objectives. Define and drive cross disciplinary initiatives and expectations.

  • Financial Control/Management: Initiate action plans and effectively manage costs and revenues to help RIS meet or exceed it financial goals. Find opportunities to reduce cost, increase productivity, and increase revenues.

  • Compliance: Provide oversight and expertise to ensure government, industry/professional, and company requirements are met. Stay current on industry requirements and trends.

  • Perform other job related duties or special projects as the need arises.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, plus 5+ years of related experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

  • Must have strong leadership ability, effective communication and decision-making skills, and be able to influence for results and facilitate change.

  • Must be highly knowledgeable of the retirement industry including the Company’s product and service offerings.

  • Requires knowledge in retirement plan design, products, services, procedures, systems, and controls.

  • Overnight travel may be required (5%).

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$95200 - $182400 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
