The Distribution Specialist is responsible for storing, staging, and packing food products. This position is a member of our USDA warehouse team and works to pull and distribute government food orders to our partner agencies

Primary Responsibilities: Store, stage, and pack food products Responsible for keeping pick locations full including restacking and rearranging product for maximum efficiency Ensure timely pulling of large delivery orders in order of importance Check all orders to verify accuracy Restock product as needed following specific food storage guidelines Monitor picking area, making sure that only designated people are present, i.e. FBR staff and volunteers Assist with training and support volunteers Ensure accurate data gathering and data entry into Ceres ERP system Responsible for unloading/loading all inbound/outbound shipments safely, move product to storage locations or distribution, efficiently stack and store the product in the appropriate area Conduct regular cycle counts and register miscellaneous inventory movements, including corrections from daily order picks Correct order selection mistakes, including disassembling and rebuilding picked orders to ensure order accuracy Maintain an accurate and well-organized warehouse and receiving/shipping dock. This includes maintaining a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Maintain warehouse sanitation, cleanliness, and safety according to Feeding America (FA), AIB & FBR standards. Responsible for securing the distribution area at end of each shift and at end of workday Follow all safety guidelines and regulations

Standing and walking throughout the shift; sitting intermittently Uses heavy equipment daily including forklift, stand up/sit down lift truck, step up pallet jack and automatic pallet jack Ability to push and pull up to 2,000 lb. pallets with a manual pallet jack Regularly lift more than 50 pounds Warehouse environment, temperatures may vary (hot/cold); primarily cold

Required Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent required Prior experience working in a warehouse/manufacturing environment preferred Forklift certification preferred Experience with Mi rosoft Office suite including Word, Excel and Outlook and warehouse management systems is a plus

Expected Hours of Work: This role is considered full-time working approximately 40 hours per week and is eligible for overtime for any hours worked over 40 in a workweek. Work schedules vary each week and consists of weekdays, evening and occasional Saturdays.
