This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers (use as appropriate), you will report to the Mission-Crew Interfaces IPT Lead as a Crew Interfaces engineer for the Lunar Crew Module. You will be responsible for the definition, design, development, procurement, test, and delivery of flight hardware within the Displays & Controls, Audio & Cameras, Cargo Accommodations and/or Payload Utilization subsystems. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and attention towards safe and reliable spaceflight. You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Permanence system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Ownership of one or more Mission-Crew Interfaces components or subassemblies throughout the entire product lifecycle. Support subsystem Responsible Engineers by providing component and subassembly trade studies, analyses, performance characterization and specification, detail design, device selection, roadmap direction, test planning and execution, and hardware procurement. Support risk analyses, failure modes effects and criticality analyses (FMECA), design for test/manufacture/cost (DFx), and root-cause analysis of test discrepancies. Create and release piece part, assembly, and/or installation models and drawings in Creo and Windchill. Complete thermal and structural analyses of your hardware. Effectively communicate development status, risks, and challenges to management.
