Under the supervision the Senior Event architect, work on major events with a specific focus on Olympic and Paralympic Games including project management, design, procurement, installation and operations. Contribute to architectural overlay design development, drawings, in support of overall project goals; Foster and maintain a collaborative professional working relationship with Populous clients, advising on overlay design development, planning scheduled, and scope of design deliverables to the design teams. Undergo detailed design reviews, providing comments and redlines and coordinate meetings to review. Develop permitting documentation and present to authorities with jurisdiction. Develop procurement documentation including drawings, bills of quantities, specifications and requests for proposals. Participate in the preparation and execution of contracts and subcontracts. Review and oversee contract requirements for various temporary event suppliers such as seats, tents, generators, and fencing. Develop an installation schedule and perform oversight of temporary event supplier installations to be certain it reflects the design intent. Define staff requirements for projects as needed or directed. Use knowledge of the operations of an event to review requirements for various stakeholders (athletes, spectators, VIP, broadcast, press, workforce) and functional areas (security, transportation, technology, and food & beverage.) Participate in selected marketing and business development opportunities. Prepare fee proposals including work plans Participate in the negotiation of contracts. Manage project budget, work plans, consultants and schedule. Track fees and costs for conformance to contract. Manage day-to-day activities of assigned projects. Foster on-going communication through team meetings, minutes, and up-date memos to project team including consultants. Ensure project documentation and contracts are in compliance with Populous standards and policies. Provide leadership including professional development coaching and mentoring staff. Define staff requirements for projects as needed or directed. Lead in developing, modifying, and reviewing design concepts, production drawings and construction documents according to established standards and technical expertise. Develop design concepts and documents during the schematic and design development stages. Manage and/or assist in design and operational research, building & systems programming, site and building analysis and report documentation. Manage and/or assist in preparing design presentations to clients, communities, and other pertinent stakeholders, including public agencies. Coordinate directly with clients in the day-to-day project management of the design development process as well as construction administration. Project schedule monitoring: daily check on project development, pending and upcoming tasks. Assessment of risks and opportunities, task assignments. Design reviews and quality control: design reviews of team produced documentation, redlines and discussions on design solutions. Document production and updates: either technical documents or design related as per project demand. Conduct client and team meetings for various projects and topics. Travel will be required within the US approximately 2-3 days per months on average, and 3 times per year internationally.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in architecture from an accredited program (or equivalent). 5 years of architecture overlay design experience, including 3 years of team lead or project management with major events and sports facilities such as Olympic, Paralympic, World Cup or NFL even 2 years of experience with Revit, AutoCAD and other drawing software (i.e. Sketchup, Bluebeam, 3DMax, Photoshop and Illustrator).

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Demonstrated knowledge of design, vendor capabilities and construction/installation methodolog . Demonstrated ability with project work plans, schedules, staffing, and budgets with an interest in financial management. Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple projects of varying scale and complexity. Demonstrated ability in MS Office tools, particularly Excel.

SALARY: $123,298.37/yr.
