Urban Peak Education And Employment Program Manager in Denver, Colorado

Under the supervision of the Director of Wellbeing, the Education and Employment Program Manager is responsible for coordination and supervision of all aspects of the administration and supervision of the Education and Employment team, employees, full time volunteers, and interns. This includes response to emergency situations, oversight, and back-up for all aspects of education and employment programming, data quality, oversight of youth daily activities and the design, set-up, and management of supportive services. This includes development and oversight of Employment Skills Training and curriculum, employer recruitment and placement and support of youth, GED program and curriculum, oversight of the WIOA program. This also includes the collection and input of required data, program evaluation, and grant reporting.

Education and Employment Program Manager works closely with the Director of Wellbeing to assist with program development and the management of yearly budgets. The program manager will act as liaison between the Community Engagement Officer and volunteers in programs, communicating needs and ensuring all volunteers feel welcome and have an understanding of the program. In addition, the manager will be a member of appropriate committees and work to develop partnerships with external agencies (i.e., Bayaud Enterprises, OED, DEDO).

Duties include oversight of UP's daily classes and activities, delivery of services and programming at all other Urban Peak programs, and the oversight of events such as GED/education graduation celebrations, monthly celebrations (i.e., Pride Month, Black History Month, Hispanic History Month, community clean up days, etc.).

This position will ensure that interactions, interventions, and environments at Urban Peak are trauma informed and emphasize the physical and emotional safety of youth and staff.

Who You Are: A Bachelor's degree in a Human Services or a related field and three (3) years' related work experience and two (2) years' supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience OR A Master's degree in education, business, communication or a related field and a minimum two (2) years' of experiences working with youth Lived experience reflective of the youth we serve encouraged but not required. Experience with providing employment and educational support for youth experiencing homelessness. Ability to connect and work effectively with a diverse youth population. The ability to connect well, work effectively and communicate in a culturally responsive manner with a diverse youth population. An understanding of trauma informed interactions and/or a willingness to learn and adopt this approach. Ability and desire to work within a crisis intervention agency. Computer proficient and possess experience of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, teams, and Excel) Understanding of the provision of and commitment to trauma informed care and positive youth development Must be insurable as a driver on Urban Peak's auto liability policy to transport youth using an Urban Peak vehicle and an approved personal vehicle. Ability to use second language in written and verbal communication desired (Spanish, Vietnamese, ASL) Ability to pass both federal and state background checks, and a pre-employment TB screening.

What You Will Do: Milieu/Classroom Supervision Provide milieu/classroom supervision through a trauma informed approach, working to ensure the physical and emotional safety of the youth and their environment. Provide programming that supports the building of healthy relationships. Work with youth to maintain cleanliness of the environment. Provide crisis intervention, phone counseling and support of milieu as necessary. Work closely with other staff and agency programs to coordinate activities, providing clear and effective communication with other staff regarding clients. Work d rectly with youth, as needed, to support their goals and assist them in managing relationships/behavior. Provide appropriate emergency interventions, as needed, and/or guide staff in providing such intervention. Provide support to other programs in emergency situations. Work with Urban Peak staff and community agencies on collaborative projects and programs, group work, recreational activities, meals, and client service planning.

Program Oversight/Quality Assurance Oversee inventory and purchasing of supplies. Plan and coordinate new hire training. Document relevant and significant events that occur during the shift in the Communication Log Plan and facilitate weekly staff meetings. Responsible for completeness and quality assurance of electronic and hard copy youth files Ensure accurate program intakes and recording of client services.
