Job Summary and Qualifications

This position supports the mission of Presbyterian/St Luke’s Medical Center of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. Under the direction of the Manger of Cellular Therapeutics, the Cellular Therapeutics (CT) Quality Management Supervisor (QMS) has primary responsibility for managing performance improvement for Cellular Therapeutics. This includes both the Apheresis (Collection Facility) and Cell Processing & Cryopreservation (Processing Facility) Services.

The QMS is responsible for reviewing and compiling data associated with performance improvement, quality, and regulatory compliance. The QMS will collaborate with CT Manager and staff to develop solutions to improve negative trends and deviations observed through quality, competency, assessments, and/or performance improvement activities. The QMS will assist in the management of regulatory compliance for CT. Along with the CT Manager, the QMS will provide training and guidance for personnel in quality management principles, regulatory requirements and current performance improvement activities. The QMS will be responsible for the review, modification, and obtaining approval of all policies and procedures within the CT department. The QMS will report regularly to the Colorado Blood Cancer Institute Blood & Marrow Transplant Program Quality Management Committee. When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by the CT Manager. The QMS functions within the philosophy, policies and procedure of Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center, and represents the hospital within and outside the organization. The QMS must continuously strive to improve through formal and informal education.

II. Position Requirements

A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certification in Quality Management preferred.

B. Education: B.A. or B.S in Business or related field (Science, Laboratory Management, etc.) required.

C. Experience:

§ Two years experience with some involvement in medical quality management.

§ Experience with Regulatory Agencies such as FDA and FACT is preferred.

§ Experience with Blood and or Tissue Banking preferred.

§ Experience with HCT/Ps (Human Cells, Tissues, and Cellular and Tissue Based Products) preferred.

§ Experience with Bone Marrow Stem Cell Collection and/or Processing preferred.
