Primary Responsibilities HDR Engineering is looking for a Bridge Design Engineer in Training (EIT) to join our Denver or Colorado Springs, CO team. The Bridge Design EIT will be expected to perform structural design on bridges and walls and occasional field work such as bridge inspection and construction observation. In the role of Bridge Design EIT, we'll count on you to: Participate in bridge designs, develop design plans, perform structural load calculations and quantity takeoffs, review shop drawings and field submittals. Work in a team environment as well as independently while challenging yourself to acquire knowledge and experience in engineering. Support the bridge design group and other disciplines by applying structural engineering and detailing techniques in the development of structural designs. Perform other duties such as bridge inspection and construction observation as needed.

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree Civil Engineering with Structures emphasis (or similar) required EIT certification strongly preferred. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression MS Office, MathCAD and AutoCAD, LARSA and Prestress Concrete Design experience Strong understanding and hands-on use of computers for structural layout and design Good communication skills and willing to work in a team environment An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must Preferred Qualifications MS in Civil/Structural Engineering preferred New graduate candidates considered; additional bridge/structural design experience will also be considered Must be willing to work with other disciplines (bridge inspection, roadway design, hydraulic analysis, stream restoration, planning, construction services, environmental) within the office. This position requires proficiency in use of typical office software such as Microsoft Office and Outlook. Experience in structural analysis and design software such as SAP2000, CSiBridge, LARSA, AASHTOWare BrR, LEAP Bridge or similar also considered a plus Familiarity with AASHTO Bridge Design Specifications and other DOT design guidelines considered a plus. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must have good communication skills and be willing to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment on a wide range of projects. The expected compensation range for this position is $65,790.00 - $97,911.00 annually/hourly depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
