Job Summary and Qualifications

  • The Director of Critical Care and Cardiovascular Services is responsible for the leadership, successful operations, and quality of Critical Care and Cardiovascular Services at the facility.

  • The incumbent facilitates the integration and teamwork of all Critical Care departments for optimal care of patients and works in conjunction with the facility Administrative Team and the Critical Care Services Medical Director to ensure the highest level of care for patients, and ensures that all services provided meet all regulatory requirements and guidelines.

  • Works with physicians to adopt and incorporate quality initiatives, understand economic considerations, and increase physician/ hospital alignment.

  • Works closely with the CNO in the development and implementation of the hospital’s plan for provision of nursing.

  • Will be responsible for nursing outcomes of Core Measures and HCAHPS scores within the facility.

  • Responsible for development of strategic and tactical plans to maximize the effectiveness of Critical Care and Cardiovascular services at the facility. This includes budget planning and management (capital and operational).

  • Also responsible for ensuring that all Critical Care and Cardiovascular areas are performing in goals and processes derived from facility initiatives.

What qualifications you will need:

Licensure/certification/registration:

  • Texas State RN license or compact license required.

  • BSN Required; Master’s Degree Preferred.

  • BLS, ACLS and specialty certification required through ARC or AHA.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years of Critical Care experience in progressive leadership roles in an acute care setting in which clinical and leadership skills have been demonstrated to be effective and exceptional.
