Production Operator positions available at our unionized wallboard plant on Annacis Island operating 24/7 with a 12-hour rotating shifts schedule.
Candidates must be able to work 12hr shifts, 3 days on, 3 days off - rotating from days to nights. The Production Operator plays a key role in our manufacturing process which then ultimately provides high quality drywall to our customers:
• Operates production equipment
• Performs Autonomous Maintenance on production equipment
• Tests product quality and ensures all specifications are met
• Uses World Class Manufacturing tools to troubleshoot machine and quality issues Completes other work as assigned by Shift Supervisor
• Participates in continuous improvement (5S, Autonomous Maintenance, Focused Improvement, Safety, Environment and Quality) projects
• Upholds CertainTeed’s safety, environment and quality standardQualifications:
• Minimum Grade 12 education
• Must be a team player with a proven focus on safety, environment, quality and customer service.
• Must be able to work shift work, including nights and weekends.
• Basic computer skills are necessary to enter quality and production data and to operate equipment.
• Must be an agile, motivated individual, with a versatile skill set that allows him/her to work in a fast-paced environment and to handle various job tasks.
• Experience with Microsoft Office is an asset
• Forklift experience is an asset
• Experience in a continuous manufacturing process is an asset• Due to the shift times we are not transit accessible, do you have your own transportation?
• Are you able to work 12hr shifts, 3 days on, 3 days off (weekend work required) - rotating from days to nights.
• Have you completed secondary school (Gr 12)?Certain provinces require pay information be provided in job postings. The national pay range for this position is $48, 600 to $61 900 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
