Simon & Schuster is currently hiring a Warehouse Management System Analyst. The WM System Analyst plays a key role in supporting and driving the new WMS and continuous improvement in all areas of the operation. This position prioritizes and directs warehouse system related projects in the area of distribution warehousing.

DUTIES:

  • Configure Manhattan Associates software and other warehouse systems to meet the business requirements.

  • Develop and execute test cases for software modifications and future upgrade implementations.

  • Provide day-to-day support for PkMS and other Warehouse systems.

  • Identify opportunities for workflow/process improvements interact with areas to jointly develop ways to enhance productivity, efficiently and effectively

  • Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify functional objectives

  • Serve as the functional and business process expert for Operations

  • Clarify requests for enhancements with the requestor and documents initiative definition

  • Drive collaboration between business leaders and users to for process and system improvement.

  • Demonstrate detailed knowledge in distribution / fulfillment concepts and system solutions

  • Drive all unit and integration testing, training and start-up of all systems or modifications

  • Conduct technology research as it relates to the functional objectives of the business unit

  • Maintain templates and requirements for all technical documents for Supply Chain including: modification specifications, project schedules, test plans, training documentation, release notes

  • Providing WM (PkMS) application support including issue resolution, application configuration and testing, and report generation to support operational activities

  • Insure consistent warehouse system processes across facilities

  • Maintain issues logs and resolution history

  • Participate in weekly status meetings

  • Coordinate acceptance testing, training and general info dissemination to operations Staff

  • Support and manage configuration & documentation of the WMS and modules

  • Create and maintain a comprehensible Configuration and Troubleshooting Document

  • Implement and maintain the new Labor Management and Slot Info System modules

  • Required to be on call every third week to resolve issues should they arise

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering or related technical degree

  • Hands on work experience (internships and/or co-op programs) Warehouse Operations a plus

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

  • Self motivated (multi-tasker)

  • Warehouse Management system experience, Manhattan PkMS a significant plus.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) required

  • Working knowledge of SQL a plus

  • Labor management and shipping systems experience a plus

  • Team-oriented

  • Experience and analysis to develop creative and innovative solutions

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
