Job Summary

Responsible for supervision of the 24-hour daily operations of the Security Operations Center (SOC), to include: Supervision of assigned staff and shift including staff administration a part of the supervisory responsibilities (to include professional development, hiring, training and central station and emergency management certifications, scheduling, etc.). Supervises system support and processes for Security, Fire, and Safety equipment including: Providing customer service support via phone, email, and ticket process. Troubleshooting system problems and remotely resolving technical issues. Communicate with field technicians and/or escalate issues with alarm and fire services specialists for resolution. Provides central escalation point within Security Operations Center in the event of major incidents or unresolved incidents requiring attention. Supports Business Resiliency team by facilitating Command Center intelligence, operations, decision making, and communication to the field.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervises assigned staff and provides shift supervision for the 24-hour daily operations of the Security Operations Center

  • Responsible for all staff administration, such as Hiring, discipline, terminations, shift scheduling, training, and resolving process failures and employee performance issues. Ensures employees obtain and maintain professional certification standards

  • Supervises system support and processes for Security, Fire, and Safety equipment including Providing customer service support via phone, email, and ticket process. Troubleshooting system problems and remotely resolving technical issues. Deploying field technicians and/orcommunicating issues with third party vendors for resolution. Maintaining pass code and key holder contact information

  • Supports Crisis Operations team by facilitating Command Center intelligence, operations, and communications.

  • Provides customer service coaching to staff to improve both customer and employee satisfaction

  • Responds to customer service and information requests from various departments, monitored sites, and federal, state, and local authorities. Provides regular and systematic reporting on all facets of Security Operations Center activity

  • Participates in networking and support activities within the Security Operations Center discipline including Government organizations (FEMA, DHS), and alarm monitoring organizations (TMA)

  • Ready and available to respond to any safety and/or security event handled by the Security Operations Center, which could include off hours availability in some cases.

  • Other duties as assigned

External Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS and at least 2 years of experience in a Central Monitoring Station, Emergency Operations Center or Call/Dispatch Center OR High School/ GED and at least 4 years of experience in a Central Monitoring Station, Emergency Operations Center or Call/Dispatch Center

  • Knowledge of National Fire Protection Association Codes; UL Certification Standards, such as UL 821, UL 1982; The Monitoring Association (TMA) 5 Diamond Central Station Certification (Burglar & Fire Alarms)

  • Knowledge of Monitoring Hardware/Software such as Signal Receivers, Alarm monitoring software; Security and Fire hardware, such as CCTV, Burglar Panels, Fire Panels; AND Emergency Response protocols and processes (public & private)

  • Knowledge of Situational Intelligence and Incident Management

  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling)

  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font)

  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns)

  • Willing to travel up to/at least 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Local & State Fire System standards and certifications

  • Experience of cross functional team leadership

  • At least one year experience as a team leader or supervisor
