Robert Half Staff Accountant in Deer Park, New York
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Deer Park, New York. The primary function of this role is to handle account analysis, bank and account reconciliation work, and assist with monthly close procedures in a fast-paced office setting. The Staff Accountant will be expected to work in the office 5 days a week.
Responsibilities:
• Handle account analysis and account reconciliation work accurately and efficiently
• Assist with monthly close procedures in a timely manner
• Record transactions using QuickBooks and Excel
• Provide necessary assistance to the Accounts Receivable department as needed
• Manage and maintain accurate customer credit records
• Monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate actions for delinquent payments
• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently
• Use skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, Month End Close, QuickBooks, Accounting Entries, Account Analysis, and Account Reconciliation to perform tasks efficiently and effectively. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience with Bank Reconciliations
• Demonstrated ability to perform Month End Close
• Proficiency in using QuickBooks
• Experience in making Accounting Entries
• Ability to perform Account Analysis
• Experience in Account Reconciliation
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Possession of or working towards a CPA designation would be an asset.
