Actalent Field Service Engineer (Northeast Region) in Deer Park, New York

Top Must-Haves:
Required Degree: 2 Year Degree
3+ years of experience as a field engineer or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Mechanical and electrical skills with experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with installing, troubleshooting, and commissioning large industrial and/or automation equipment.
Responsibilities:
The Field Service Engineer commissions, calibrates, and services new or modified equipment at customer facilities to ensure full functionality according to specifications. The role involves:
Reviewing performance reports and documentation from customers and field representatives.
Inspecting malfunctioning or damaged products to determine the nature and scope of problems.
Analyzing review and inspection findings to determine the source of problems and recommending repair, replacement, or other corrective actions.
Coordinating problem resolution with engineering, customer service, and other personnel to expedite repairs.
Providing on-site technical assistance to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
Developing and conducting training on safe equipment operations and demonstrating skills to trainees.
Skills & Qualifications:
Education:
Associate's degree in mechanical discipline from a two-year college or technical school.
Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.
Experience:
3+ years as a field engineer; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with installing, troubleshooting, and commissioning large industrial and/or automation equipment.
Mechanical and electrical skills with experience in a manufacturing environment.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in DVM, O-Scope, and instruments used in troubleshooting electro schematic diagrams.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Proficiency in Electrical Systems Design of control boxes for industrial equipment.
Knowledge of machine design and parts design for machinery containing control systems.
Additional Skills:
Strong communication, math, and computer skills.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
SAP experience preferred.
Travel:
Travel up to 80% of the time, sometimes internationally.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
