[POSITION PURPOSE [The Lead Operator directs the team members' daily activities and ensures their safety and productivity. Monitors, operates and maintains all equipment and systems in charge associated with the operation and maintenance of the facility via a control system in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures. The Lead Operator inspects equipment for proper lubrication, cooling water, vibration, noise, overheating and overall operational status. He/she summarizes all the operations events and incidents that have occurred and reports them to the relevant department. ]{new="" roman="" times=""}]{gothic="" malgun=""} ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES]{gothic="" malgun=""} 1. Schedules and assigns work to staff; 2. Operates, monitors and maintains all equipment and supporting systems, i.e. APS, Combustion Turbine, HRSG, Steam Turbine, water treatment, cooling towers, condensate system and all BOP systems; 3. Carries out high-voltage switching; 4. Is responsible for reviewing and approving all operating procedures for startup, shutdown, testing, and maintenance of the power plant; 5. Takes action using Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) program when needed and responsibility for LOTO administration; 6. Troubleshoots equipment and systems and provides/performs corrective action; operates systems in remote or local control to determine proper operation. Performs failure analysis to determine cause of equipment/system malfunction; 7. Advises management on any defect or malfunctioning of units and make recommendations for their repairs, and also to timely inform on the loss of generation and delays in returning units to service; 8. Ensures that emergency and standby equipment are tested and readily available; 9. Ensures that logbooks are read and acknowledgments noted on commencement of shift and all relevant information pertaining to operations and station activities are logged on completion of shift; 10. Collects and reviews data and prepares reports, including status reports, data sheets, analytical test results, logbook entries, and local/state/federal environmental reporting, concerning the chemical conditions and status of process equipment and systems; 11. Ensures plant and equipment are operated within designed specifications and parameters; 12. Writes, reviews, revises and approves operations procedures; 13. Provides training (safety and operational) of new hires and recently promoted employees. Receives training to further your knowledge, prepare yourself for advancement and maintain safety awareness training; 14. Follows all safety/environmental policies, procedures, rules and participates in training; 15. Participates, as necessary, in the development of new testing procedures which would enhance the generation of important data. Provides technical input for operation and maintenance training programs; 16. Identifies mechanical design, machinery improvements or problems and recommends modifications necessary for resolution; 17. Develops new testing procedures which would enhance the generation of important data. Provides technical input for operation and maintenance training programs; 18. Work with outside contractors during overhauls or at other times, when contractors are engaged in plant work; 19. Completes all training/qualifications required to be team members; 20. Is responsible for plant housekeeping and maintains plant cleanliness. 21. Other duties as assigned.
