[POSITION PURPOSE [This position is responsible for ensuring the continuous maintenance of the chemical condition of the plant's water, fuel, air and environmental systems within prescribed limits as well as the safe and proper execution of all chemical functions and tests within and external to the plant. The incumbent is also responsible for the safety of personnel, reliability and efficient operation of equipment under his/her charge. ]{new="" roman="" times=""}]{gothic="" malgun=""} ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES]{gothic="" malgun=""} 1. Performs laboratory and field analysis/testing/sampling of water, fuels, lubricants and other petrochemicals for verification of standards. 2. Performs laboratory and field analysis/testing/sampling of water, fuels, etc. on routine, daily, weekly, monthly, semiannually and annual basis as required by the plant. 3. Reviews process parameters for compliance with control limits. Directs staff on a timely basis to correct parameters that are outside of control. 4. Directly supervises chemical cleaning of power plant equipment (e.g. HRSG, gas turbine compressor wash, etc.). 5. Submit s report s to the Lead Operator on a daily basis and periodic reports to the POO . 6. Prepares periodic analysis results reports and establishes measures for abnormal changes. 7. Supervises effluent disposal and ensures it meets environmental standards. 8. Trains water treatment plant operators to perform cooling, raw, feed and condensate water analysis. 9. Interfaces with environmental services and governmental agencies to ensure compliance with regulations. 10. Updates chemistry log sheet when necessary to reflect chemicals currently in use and the control limits for each parameter analysis conducted. 11. Ensures chemical inventory is maintained at the appropriate level in ensuring reliable and efficient operation of the plant chemistry program. 12. Safely stores, handles and disposes of all toxic and corrosive chemicals and materials e.g. Acids, caustic soda and ammonia 13. Responds to standing local emergency procedures e.g. Fire plans, evacuation plan etc. 14. Lubricates pumps, valves, and other equipment; repairs parts where necessary. 15. Assists Field Operator's operation work, if needed. 16. Completes all training/qualifications required to be a Chemist 17. Responsible for plant housekeeping and maintaining plant cleanliness. 18. Other duties as assigned. [Qualifications]{gothic="" malgun=""} Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English and perform basic mathematical computations.
