ST NORBERT COLLEGE Assistant VP for Financial Services in DE PERE, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: St. Norbert College, a nationally-ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college is seeking an Assistant Vice President for Financial Services. As a member of the Vice President of Business and Finance Leadership Team, the Assistant Vice President for Financial Services (AVP) serves to provide forward thinking and strategic leadership on financial matters in line with the mission of the institution. This position provides leadership and oversight to the departments of Accounting Services, Student Account Services and Financial Planning & Analysis. The AVP is directly responsible for budget and forecast development, financial reporting, cash/treasury management, and endowment management. This position is also responsible for the integrity of the financial information within the general ledger, accounting operations, periodic financial reporting (both internal and external), financial analysis, and finance staff supervision and development. The AVP is also responsible for all aspects of the annual financial audit, single audit, 990 Return and other tax and compliance reporting. The AVP champions and operationally supports the optimization of the college\'s ERP system (Workday) and serves to advance the College\'s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Specific responsibilities Provide leadership and management to Financial Planning & Analysis. Lead the operating and capital budget development and long-range planning processes by providing insight, analysis and reporting specific to historical and current financials, including financial metrics and dashboards. Engages campus stakeholders in the development process; Prepares executive and board leadership materials supporting the budget and forecast. Lead organizational development of departments including the professional development of staff and continuous process improvements ensuring organizational excellence. Provide leadership and oversight to Accounting Services and Student Account Services; Manage all periodic financial reporting and analysis, proactively communicating results, concerns, and opportunities to leadership to support governance, decision making and strategic initiatives; Oversees all year-end accounting responsibilities, external audit and tax preparation and reporting requirements, including forms 990 and 990T; Partners closely with the College\'s external audit firm; Ensures the development and adherence of internal controls necessary to mitigate risk to protect the assets of the college. Lead the optimization of Workday Finance and Adaptive Planning platforms, collaborating closely with external support partners. Requires a strong understanding of effective accounting process & policy designs to identify opportunities for improvement within Workday Finance; Anticipates future business needs to improve productivity and capabilities; facilitates change management; Identifies metrics to measure and track performance. Oversee the investment management accounting and reporting, ensuring the optimization of the College\'s endowment funds, such as its capital fund and gift programs, in partnership with the College\'s investment consultant. Responsible for reporting on endowment and investment performance to senior leadership. Partners with Advancement to establish and maintain policies supporting endowments. Responsible for cash/treasury management, including analyzing, monitoring and reporting on the liquidity of the college; establishes and maintains cash management practices including all cash accounts, investment income, line of credit draws, and diversification; provides monthly cash flow forecasts. Responsible for recommending, implementing, communicating, maintaining, and ensuring compliance with college financial policies & procedures. This includes ensuring easy accessibility and educating managers and others with responsibility for finances and college assets. ****\ OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: - 10+ years of accounting and financial management experience, preferably in higher education or a complex non-profit organization. - Progressive leadership and management experience leading a department that has broad organizational impact. - Mastery of current generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting standards and GASB pronouncements - Demonstrated advanced problem solving and analytical skills necessary to perform complex financial analysis, identify trends, and assess impact on college operations - Proven success in implementing continuous improvements and re-engineering process and procedures within an ERP system preferred. - Oversight of investment portfolios and endowment funds preferred. - Experience leading campus wide/cross-departmental initiatives. - Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse campus environment or commitment to do so as an employee of St. Norbert College. - Proven supervisory, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. - Collaborative, team building within and across departments in alignment with department, divisional and college goals, values and mission. - Skilled at coaching and developing staff. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. - Ability to interact professionally with coworkers and customers, particularly in complex and delicate situations. - Knowledge of financial ERP systems - Ability to exercise good judgement and decisions in an expeditious manner. ***** APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Apply Online: https://stnorbert.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/en-US/SNCCareers/details/ControllerJR101300 Other: Applications received by June 30th will be ensured full consideration.
