This executive role requires a seasoned leader with extensive experience in aerospace and network engineering, as well as a track record of managing and aligning engineering resources to achieve organizational goals. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with senior leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to drive innovation, optimize performance, and ensure the successful execution of aerospace and network engineering projects. Responsibilities Develop and communicate a clear vision and strategic roadmap for the systems engineering department, encompassing both aerospace and network engineering domains. Provide guidance and direction to engineering teams, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and priorities. Collaborate with senior leadership to establish goals, objectives, and performance metrics for the systems engineering department. Lead and mentor a diverse team of engineers and technical professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation. Provide coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of engineering personnel. Foster cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing across aerospace and network engineering teams. Oversee the execution of aerospace and network engineering projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies as needed. Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to address challenges and drive successful project outcomes. Engage with senior leadership, stakeholders, and clients to understand their needs, requirements, and expectations related to aerospace and network engineering initiatives. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, representing the systems engineering department at various forums and meetings. Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the systems engineering department, leveraging emerging technologies, best practices, and industry trends. Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, optimize processes, and streamline workflows across aerospace and network engineering functions. Assess and mitigate risks associated with aerospace and network engineering projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and cybersecurity protocols. Establish and enforce policies, procedures, and best practices to mitigate risks and maintain a secure and resilient engineering environment. Education/Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering). 15 years' experience leading systems engineering teams and efforts. Extensive experience leading system engineering efforts, with a proven track record of leadership and achievement in executive or senior management roles. Strong strategic planning and decision-making skills, with the ability to translate organizational goals into actionable plans and initiatives. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
