Production Supervisor - US - Dayton, OH The Blueprint (Role Profile) The Production Supervisor position is responsible for supervising hourly employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. Come build your future with us! The Build (Responsibilities) * Leads and directs day-to-day responsibilities of work, scheduling, quality, safety for all 2nd and third shift employees. Interfacing with other supervisors and managers as needed to meet the production schedule; occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. * Liaison between the needs of the production employees and senior leadership team. Including driving a safety culture, increasing accountability and training, and innovation and change. * Effectively navigate employee relation issues, working with union representatives and human resources. * Provide employee coaching and development, resolve employee issues and grievances through problem resolution, track absenteeism and timekeeping. * Develop and implement manufacturing methods, quality standards, and perform cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization. * Develops and maintains long range strategies inclusive of capital selection, justification and acquisitions. * Identifies and directs implementation of improvement opportunities by securing relevant information, asking effective questions, and developing solutions. Advocates for change and growth. * Resolves problems relating to materials, operations, quality or other factors that may result in production delays. * Interact with applicable engineering staff on piece part design, process development and improvement. * Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Work to continuously improve in all areas. * Lead and direct departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager. * Other duties as assigned. The Toolbox (Qualifications) * Bachelor's degree preferred or In lieu of 8-10 years of relative experience required * 7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred * Leadership experience required including performance management and time management * Strong problem solving/analysis skills required * Results driven mindset required, with the ability to influence innovation and change * Strong communication skills * Flexibility Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
