Hohman Plating & Mfg., Inc. Maintenance Electrical Controls Engineer in Dayton, Ohio
SUMMARY: Provide world class electrical/PLC maintenance support that is time-sensitive and cost-effective for the facility and its processing equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Routine and Emergency Work Order Response
Maintain clean and safe work area in compliance with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Troubleshoot, determine root cause & corrective action, and electrical control systems using basic relay logic, PLC ladder logic, Rslogix5000, Rslogix500, and Factory Talk. Ability to support programing of Allen Bradley Software.
- Ability to be able to help with all aspects of equipment repair such as, plumbing, ductwork, tanks, critical Facility equipment, etc.
- Effectively communicate technical information to others by answering questions and responding to service requests.
Document work order findings using FIIX or Microsoft Office applications.
Preventive/Predictive Maintenance
Ensure production capabilities by conducting preventive maintenance tasks on schedule and according to manufacturers' recommendations.
- Identify and document deficiencies in Environmental Systems, Safety Practices and Production equipment and implement repairs as required.
- Perform periodic bench work by dismantling inoperable equipment and rebuilding for future use.
Conduct daily inspection of critical plant systems (air compressors, reverse water, boilers, scrubbers, etc.)
PLC/Automation Controls
Consult with Engineering and Production to design and develop PLC and Automation Controls.
- Maintain current systems with Panelviews, Compact Logic, and MicroLogic.
Repair and assemble current and new systems.
Project Team Coordinator
Plan, organize and execute assigned projects in compliance with safety and environmental assessments to include: procurement of project materials; design of structural fabrication, plumbing and electrical systems; and the documentation and calibration of the final outcome.
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- S. Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
- Industrial maintenance experience required
- Must be able to interpret drawings, blueprints and schematics
- PLC troubleshooting and program adjustments
- Must have organizational skills to ensure effective actions and be able to work independently.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to dangerous chemicals, including exposure to fumes or airborne particles below OSHA permissible limits. Frequently exposed to high heat and humid conditions. Employee will be frequently exposed to loud sounds, below the OSHA permissible limits.
