The ISSO will advance the capabilities of the Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Cell by providing support for operational systems. The ISR Cell is located at the National Space Intelligence Center (NSIC) and the work will be performed in Government spaces. The ISSO will be responsible for the generating Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages for architecture on government networks and will ensure that the government maintains an appropriate security posture on all systems and hosted software.
Job Duties:
Lead the development and execution of comprehensive security strategies, including risk assessments, threat modeling, and security architecture design.
Provide technical expertise in evaluating, selecting, and implementing security technologies, tools, and solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Conduct in-depth security assessments, including ethical hacking, and oversee penetration-testing efforts.
Lead incident response and coordinate with stakeholders to mitigate and recover from security incidents.
Stay updated with emerging cybersecurity trends, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
Communicate security risks, recommendations, and solutions to leadership and customers.
Required Experience:
High School or equivalent.
4+ years of experience supporting development of A&A security plans or packages ISO of IT systems ATO, including the implementation and assessment of cybersecurity controls.
4+ years of RMF Experience with implementing and assessing the implementation of DoD STIGs.
Experience conducting and interpreting ACAS vulnerability scanning and reporting.
Ability to execute cybersecurity testing of IT hardware and software to identify, track, and remediate ongoing IT vulnerabilities.
Knowledge of DoD policies, processes, and procedures related to common duties for Information System Security Officers.
Security Clearance:
Applicants must possess an active TS//SCI security clearance.
Applicants must be eligible for access to SAP classified information.
Desired Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field.
CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent certification.
DoD 8570 IAT Level II or IAM Level II Baseline Certification.
