BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY: The MSC Digital team is investing in expanding our Data Science and Analytics team. We are looking for a driven, collaborative, and detail-oriented individual to join our team and help us identify and document business requirements to accelerate the development of advanced analytics capabilities at MSC.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Actively participates in cross-functional teams working closely with the business leaders to identify and prioritize opportunities for developing and enhancing analytics products.
Conducts meetings to gather critical information from various stakeholders and produce useful reports.
Perform discovery analyses to understand data dependencies and create requirements for data engineering teams to bring in new data attributes into the ecosystem.
Documents all requirements and supports the data analytics and engineering team in developing high-quality data-driven analytics and visualization products that meet the business user needs and delivers value.
Perform quality-assurance and support with user-acceptance testing to ensure that the solutions meet user needs.
Develop user-training material and tutorials for dashboards and visualization products.
Addresses daily support issues with urgency and ensure that resolutions are meant to solve the root of the problem.
Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.
Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent years of business experience is required.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis or a related field.
Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations is required.
Experience working on data products is preferred.
Experience in influencing stakeholders and working collaboratively to deliver data-driven solutions.
SKILLS:
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication and project management skills are required.
Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
Excellent documentation skills.
General business experience including sales, distribution and supply chain is preferred.
Experience with Tableau, Alteryx, Google Looker, Google BigQuery is preferred.
Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
A track record of following through on commitments.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
A valid driver’s license is required and the ability to travel up to 5% may be required.
This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (“ITAR”) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (“CUI”).
Compensation starting at $70980 - $111540 depending on experience.
The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate’s relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
