Robert Half Staff Accountant in Dallas, Texas
Description We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team in the Construction/Contractor industry, located in Dallas, Texas. Your main role will be to manage specific general ledger accounts, execute account analyses, and maintain precise recordkeeping. You will also be responsible for reconciliations and will have the opportunity to work alongside team members in the Financial Accounting Group and other departments.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and maintain specific general ledger accounts
• Execute detailed account analyses and recordkeeping
• Implement adjustments to journal entries and post transactions
• Conduct bank reconciliations and address outstanding items
• Manage and maintain fixed asset registers and related schedules
• Execute pre-defined tasks during month-end and year-end closes
• Conduct reconciliations and analysis of other general ledger accounts
• Collect year-end audit information as needed
• Carry out other duties as required from time to time
• Utilize Excel for various tasks including Spreadsheets, Pivot Tables, and VLOOKUP
This role is an excellent opportunity for those with skills in General Ledger, Month End Close, Journal Entries, Account Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations. Requirements • Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar.
• Proficiency in General Ledger management is required.
• Experience with Month End Close processes is essential.
• Familiarity with Journal Entries preparation and management is needed.
• Expertise in Account Reconciliation is mandatory.
• Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations accurately and efficiently is required.
• Applicant must have a strong understanding of standard accounting practices within the construction/contractor industry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are crucial.
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
• Professional accounting certification, such as CPA or CMA, is a plus.
