Description

As a Data Center Construction Project Scheduler, you will be a part of a creative, diverse team tasked with solving challenging problems constructing Amazon Data Centers. Our data centers are industry-leading examples of energy efficient, cost-effective designs. You will work alongside partner teams such as Engineering, Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning to build Data Centers that directly support our Customers.

As a Data Center Construction Project Scheduler, you will review and develop construction schedules for our data center construction projects. You will work alongside our general contractors and Data Center Construction Managers with schedule planning, construction activity coordination, and monitoring the construction schedule. You will also be involved in identifying potential scheduling delays and facilitate remedial action. You may also prepare project progress and performance evaluation reports.

Key job responsibilities

Consulting with Stakeholders, Construction Managers, General Contractors, and suppliers to set up assignments, tasks, subtasks, milestones. Develop and maintain detailed resource loaded schedules of Design/Build construction project.

  • Guide contractors to develop and follow a standard planned/actual progress reporting procedure in line with agreed rules of credit and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).

· Design and develop project schedule for new, ambiguous projects during initial planning, conceptual design, schematics progress, and design development.

· Analyze critical path and earned value to determine effect of changes and delays to schedule and recommend work-around.

· Delay analysis of vendor and contractor schedules for mitigation.

· Review of new design for impact on baseline schedule.

· Conduct analysis to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules. Recommending actions to keep projects within budget and completed on time.

· Identifying potential project schedule delays and facilitating fixes quickly. Troubleshoot and monitor potential scheduling problems. Identify and anticipate schedule disparities and correct.

· Accommodating updates and changes to project schedules.

· Gather and analyze information to prepare reports on the progress of projects. Frequent on-site visits to review construction progress required.

· Work in collaboration with project management team to drive consistency of the project scheduling approach to facilitate accuracy in project execution and reporting.

· Facilitate and participate in weekly schedule reviews.

· Due date notifications of upcoming deadlines with a brief summary of tasks due in the coming week.

Ability to meet travel, entry & re-entry requirements for United States, Canada & LATAM countries

• Travel required: 50%-75%.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent Engineering Science

  • 8 years of scheduling experience or 12+ years’ of related construction project scheduling experience in lieu of a degree.

8+ years’ experience as a construction project scheduler concurrently managing multiple large commercial, mission critical, or industrial projects. participating in all phases of the construction planning & scheduling process, including the creation of proposal schedules, baseline schedule and ongoing schedule

Preferred Qualifications

Skills: Primavera P6, Asta Power Project, Excel Knowledge of the scope and construction life cycle sequencing of project schedules.

Experience and proven ability with Earned Value Management of project schedules

Experience and proven ability with Critical Path analysis

Organizational, analytical, and writing skills, to include solid experience in writing functional and technical specifications.
