ARAMARK Regional Logistics Manager I - USG Corrections in Dallas, Texas
Job Description
This is a corporate role and will have Logistics Operations responsibility in an assigned region for all Logistics and Fleet operations. You will work directly with Distribution Leadership, Carriers, 3PL Providers, Vendors and Fleet Personnel to achieve high performance in People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost objectives.
An understanding of the transportation market, supply chain functions and overall movement of products is essential. The position is one of thought leadership, report creation, driving improvement with clearly defined metrics, understanding data trends thru analysis and working to improve logistics operations across the entire organization.
The successful candidate will be responsible for directing day-to-day operations as it relates to all inbound and outbound transportation. Related to our private fleet, you will administer documents and ensure DOT compliance of internal vehicles, ensure optimal routing and as well as provide direct supervisor of Privet Fleet Drivers.
Job Responsibilities
Vendor/customer relations as it pertains to aspects all aspects of inbound and outbound transportation and fleet maintenance.
? Communicate with all Distribution Center locations and other internal partners to ensure their transportation needs and timings are being met.
? Management of daily load capacity, rate procurement, carrier sourcing and coordinate alternative delivery means if shipments are delayed or disrupted.
? Reporting & Analysis support across all business
o Capture and report KPI?s and hold carriers responsible for service / cost.
? Maintain all record keeping required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (U.S. DOT) for required vehicles.
o Communicate with, and assist, USG locations for compliance with all DOT regulations and filings.
o Assist in vehicle procurement, disposition, driver hiring, payroll, incident investigation/reporting and overall mgt.
? Addressing shipment issues, problem solving, and corrective actions taken.
? Savings activities, logistics analysis, efficiency gains, and project support.
? Support logistics technology including carrier freight invoice/rate structure/assistance with freight audit activities.
? Any other projects or duties as assigned by Union Supply Group.
Qualifications
5 to 10 years of Logistics experience including supervisor responsibility of drivers.
Ability to create ?outside the box? solutions.
Relationship based thinking and approach.
Emphasis on results, diplomacy, multi-tasking and priority setting.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite products.
Ability to assess situations and recommend best course of action.
Ability to travel <10%.
Education
Bachelors preferred
