Robert Half Property Accountant in Dallas, Texas
Description
We are looking for a meticulous Property Accountant to be a part of our team in the Real Estate & Property industry based in Dallas, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting general accounting tasks, preparing financial statements, and ensuring accurate customer records. You will also oversee expense participation for properties, assist in preparing properties for dispositions, and handle various accounting functions.
Responsibilities:
• Overseeing general ledger review and providing high-level monthly variance explanations.
• Preparing and organizing supporting documents for annual tax packages.
• Handling manual billings, billing adjustments, and refunds while maintaining supplemental ledgers using the accounting operating system.
• Managing Expense Participation for properties including input of information for all tenants on assigned properties, preparation of pre-bills and annual true-ups, and budget and reforecast for Expense Participation by Tenant.
• Conducting lease review of assigned properties and peer review for Expense Participation set up.
• Assisting management offices by researching and responding timely to their accounting-related queries.
• Supporting Accounting Manager with preparing properties for upcoming dispositions including verifying support schedules, providing general ledger and invoice support and cleanup, and any required reconciliations.
• Setting up jobs and processing all pay applications for Tenant Improvements/Capital on assigned properties.
Requirements • Proficiency in Account Coding is required.
• Familiarity with various Accounting Software Systems is essential.
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is desirable.
• Knowledge of AMSI is a mandatory requirement.
• Ability to utilize AppFolio software effectively is necessary.
• Strong understanding and execution of various Accounting Functions is required.
• Must have experience handling Accounts Payable (AP).
• Experience in managing Accounts Receivable (AR) is required.
• Must possess a deep understanding of Accrual Accounting.
• Prior experience in Auditing is highly desirable.
