Job Title: Preventative Maintenance Engineer
Job Description
The Preventative Maintenance Engineer will follow facilities maintenance management system schedules and perform all major preventative maintenance tasks on air-handling equipment, air compressors, and pumps. The role also involves installing, repairing, and replacing doors, windows, floors, walls, roofs, furniture, door closures, locks, window air conditioners, cabinets, and more. The engineer will repair food service and custodial equipment, respond to Fire Protection System trouble alarms, and report the same to the Fire Prevention and Safety Coordinator. The job also includes maintaining, repairing, and replacing various plumbing equipment such as water and sewage lines, sinks, faucets, toilets, bathtubs, drain lines, and pipes made of iron, copper, and plastic. Additionally, the engineer will open plugged drains, check pipes for leaks, replace, repair, and maintain pipe covering insulation, lubricate pumps and valves, and change filters and motor couplers.
Responsibilities
Perform all major preventative maintenance tasks on air-handling equipment, air compressors, and pumps.
Install, repair, and replace doors, windows, floors, walls, roofs, furniture, door closures, locks, window air conditioners, cabinets, etc.
Repair food service and custodial equipment.
Respond to Fire Protection System trouble alarms and report the same to the Fire Prevention and Safety Coordinator.
Maintain, repair, and replace various plumbing equipment such as water and sewage lines, sinks, faucets, toilets, bathtubs, drain lines, and pipes.
Open plugged drains, check pipes for leaks, and maintain pipe covering insulation.
Lubricate pumps and valves, change filters, and motor couplers.
May repair and/or replace door locking mechanisms and assign temporary keys to customers.
Essential Skills
Minimum of three years skilled work experience in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC related work or a combination of all four.
Ability to use a respirator and demonstrate the ability to work in high places and confined spaces.
Successfully complete elevator extraction and fire panel training certification within 12 months of hire.
Ability to be called to work in emergency situations.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Work Environment
This is a 1st shift position from Tuesday through Saturday, 7:00am - 3:30pm, with some flexibility. You will report to the facilities management building each morning. The campus spans 1,157 acres and is covered in trees and foliage, with responsibilities covering various parts of the campus. You will work alongside custodial, grounds, movers/laborers, fleet service, maintenance, and trades teams.

This is a Contract position based out of Kent, Ohio.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
