We are an Image Quality team in the Video Engineering team, responsible for video quality on iPhone/iPad, Mac products and some other future products! We are seeking an outstanding Engineer who has good understanding of lab image quality test automation and real world image quality verification to help us deliver the best camera image quality to the world!

Description

As an Image Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for understanding our camera image quality performance metrics and developing the robust and reliable automation framework to measure performance results based on lab environments. You will also maintain our existing test automation infrastructure and developing new test automation frameworks to support performance measurement of new features and increase test coverage. In addition, you will be responsible for real world camera image quality verification, find algorithm bugs and do initial analysis and triaging. You will actively participate in quality evaluations for features and algorithms, through experimental studies both in the lab and in the field and provide direct feedback to the engineering teams. You will analyze, reproduce, isolate image quality issues from both lab and real-world testing environment. You will summarize the finding and present to teams, including some executive demo. In this role, you'll be a critical part of a fast-paced, collaborative team and who thrive in a high energy, time-constrained, multitasking environment to significantly impact our image quality.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience

  • Solid understanding of subjective/objective image quality evaluation

  • Knowledge of ISP pipeline and 3A evaluation

  • Strong image/video photography skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience & proficiency in C or C++ or Swift

  • Experience & proficiency in MATLAB or Python

  • Focus on details and possess strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate and work cross functionally

The base pay range for this role is between $132,300 and $241,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
