Description

The Human Engineering Software team works closely with many teams around the company to build powerful multi-platform tools, with a particular focus on user studies for new products. We are looking for a world-class engineer who is passionate about operational excellence through automation and engineering processes. In this role, you will ensure seamless integration of development and operations while managing sensitive health data securely and efficiently, adhering to the highest standards of availability, scalability, and compliance. You will provide end-to-end technical support for study teams, manage infrastructure (physical and virtual), ensure system uptime, and drive continuous improvements. Key Responsibilities: Cloud & Kubernetes Operations: -Lead our migration from on-prem to cloud hosting -Deploy VMs/containers, manage Kubernetes clusters, optimize resources, and update tools -Simplify infrastructure and adopt GitOps practices Monitoring & Debugging: -Maintain Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, and troubleshoot network, database, and config issues Infrastructure Management (including VMWare): -Design resilient architecture (redundant power, cooling, networks) -Manage equipment (ordering, replacing, auditing)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Expertise with container orchestration such as Kubernetes, and experience troubleshooting Linux-based systems

  • Experience with monitoring & debugging tools

  • Proficiency with designing and operating applications in a public cloud environment

  • Experience with firewalls, and computer network design

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a strong focus on teamwork

  • Analytical & problem solving skills, ability to communicate ideas clearly

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
