Apple’s Industrial Design team is looking for a Color Engineering Program Manager to work with the internal color team on delivering world-class colors, materials, and finishes for all Apple products. The right candidate will have outstanding organizational skills and be able to see multiple projects through from design exploration to engineering development all the way to manufacturing, while working with multiple groups internal and external to Apple.

Key Qualifications

  • Superb organizations skills

  • Experience with managing large amounts of information

  • Technical background in the fields of material science, engineering, consumer products, textiles, fashion or automotive

  • Ability to take direction & work independently as well as collaboratively

  • Excellent verbal & written communication

  • High emotional intelligence: able to filter information, understand urgency, and know appropriate time to initiate conversation

  • Interest in learning fundamentals of color science

  • Knowledge of Keynote, Excel, Numbers

Description

Color EPMs are responsible for tracking, managing and driving multiple color palettes for multiple products, all with different lead times and release dates. They must juggle multiple project schedules in order to ensure the deadlines for color design decisions and engineering builds are met. A huge part of the job entails ownership of hundreds of physical samples and documents that are crucial for the product development cycle. - Need to quickly pivot and switch gears during iterative design process and inevitable design changes - Understand product timelines on the design and engineering side - Hold running weekly designer reviews and meetings with engineers and delicately move things forward when needed - Ingest and prioritize a great deal of information then translate it to multiple audiences (manufacturing, engineers, designers) oftentimes in different formats - Technically fluent enough to distill information and ask the right questions / troubleshoot with engineers - Maintain ownership of color targets, master standards, and build units - Work across multiple groups: vendors, product teams, research teams, manufacturing

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $132,300.00 and $241,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
