Job Description

As a Quality Engineer, you'll be responsible to oversees the execution and compliance with quality standards at each stage of the plant process from the receipt of raw materials and packaging materials to the delivery of the finished product. Monitors compliance with BIC's quality standards and implements and regulates compliance with Quality Assurance Standards to achieve consumer satisfaction, as well as compliance with legislation applicable to the products manufactured. Develops validation plans for the implementation of process changes and Engineering changes to ensure that Change Management standards are met. Manages the implementation of new materials, raw materials or products.

Regulates and audits compliance with quality standards defined in contracted manufacturing processes based on the management systems required by the Plant.

What You’ll Do:

  • Analyses applicable standards for raw materials, components, products or services to ensure compliance with quality standards set by the Company and applicable Premises Rules.

  • Verifies that sampling methods, testing methodologies, protocols and procedures are applied to ensure that quality standards are met and executes quality principles by analysing records, preparing reports and recommending improvements to the process, products or services.

  • Develops protocols to ensure inspection, verification and validation of raw materials, components, materials or machines used in the development of processes or products and their changes.

  • Identifies and deals with recurrent problems related to product or process quality. Evaluates test procedures in process or product development and changes.

  • Documents quality issues, performance measures or improvement proposals for review with organisational management as part of the Integrated Management System.

  • Takes action to meet position, functional area and plant KPIs. Manages the administration of the personnel in charge and executes their evaluation. Controls required overtime.

  • Manages the execution of validation plans for New Product Introduction and follows up on Engineering changes to products or current manufacturing processes. Maintains close communication with BiC subsidiaries to share best practice or solution improvement opportunities.

  • Updates and maintains the Management System documents of its functional areas. Trains its personnel in charge and disseminates Management System changes to Plant personnel.

Projects you'll work on

  • Comply with and evaluate compliance with the guidelines stipulated in the Quality Management System, as well as define the necessary operational controls to guarantee the quality, functionality and safety of the products manufactured.

  • To supervise that the staff under his/her charge executes the activities related to his/her position so that the business objectives are met and the Integrated Management System is kept in operation.

  • Monitor and implement the necessary actions for the fulfilment of the business indicators, their functional areas and customer satisfaction.

  • Evaluate the technical characteristics of raw materials and components to guarantee the quality of the components and the finished product.

  • Coordinate the activities of a team of inspectors and process quality technicians who evaluate raw materials, audit processes and finished products and support during change management evaluation.

  • Establish test protocols and process qualification protocols for decision making for current processes or during engineering changes.

  • Adherence to the schedule of project implementation activities as well as the validation plan when implementing new raw materials, components or products at industrial level or during required engineering changes.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or similar.

  • Quality Systems in Multinational Industries of massive production

  • Intermediate - Advanced level of English

  • Basic knowledge in ISO 9001 and 14001

  • Differential and Inferential Statistical Knowledge

  • Basic knowledge of NOM in the field of writing articles.

  • Advanced English, Methodical, Analytical, Results oriented and Strategic Thinking.

  • Empathetic, organisational change manager
