Position Summary

Operator 1

Principal Responsibilities

• Operates and adjusts machine/equipment/cell to SOP as trained, including packaging and labeling products.

• Understands and uses measuring equipment: calipers, micrometers, rulers, Instron, scales, counters, snap gauges, ring gauges, pins, and other gauging following prescribed procedures to meet high-quality specifications.

• Documents process data and parameters as required by MP/GMP.

• Identifies when process is out of spec and recognizes when to notify Team Leader.

• Review process documentation, make corrections and sign off on production orders.

• Follow QA procedures and requirements.

• Follow safety procedures, including use of required personal protective equipment.

• Follow manufacturing procedures.

Education / Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

• Basic math (addition, subtraction, and division) and assembly.

• Good interpersonal, communication and documentation skills.

• Strong attention detail.

• Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English fluently.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

• Exposure to high production/output machinery and equipment, and constant noise in the production/plant environment.

• Inspection: 90% sitting, 10% standing, walking/carrying.

• Braiding, Cutting, Hotstretch, Teflon, Bobbin Winding: 10% Sitting, 90% Persistent standing or walking/carrying.

• Must be able to avoid potentially moving objects which could cause injury.

• Occasional use of stairs.

• Consistent lifting: 2 - 20 lbs. necessary/ Max = 50 lbs.

• Must be able to grasp and move objects consistently and regularly.

• Must be able to reach, grasp, pull, push consistently.

• Fine motor skills required.

• Strong hand-eye coordination.

• Sight: Vision must be strong enough for employees to safely and accurately complete intricate work with or without corrective lenses.

• Ability to work in hot and cold temperatures.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $17 - $24 per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will also include benefits such as medical, prescription drug, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, participation in 401(k) savings plan, and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO, short- and long-term disability and parental leave, dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
