Synchrony AVP, Solution Architect - Transmit Security in Costa Mesa, California

Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

The Goal for the 'Transmit Security' platform is to improve the customer experience while better managing fraud and increasing security. Transmit Security - Authentication as a Service is a centralized platform to provide authentication services to other application teams. The Transmit engineer will be responsible for creating transmit policies for different applications and adhering to the best coding standards. Responsible for functional and technical guidance over the whole project or application lifecycle.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead teams in building new solutions/platforms and enhancements, working closely with requirements analysts, testers, and the customer in an agile development practice

  • Own the technical design and development of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems

  • Develop functional and technical specifications from business requirements

  • Schedule and participate in code reviews with all the dependent teams

  • Co-ordinate with third-party vendors to resolve any integration issues.

  • Supporting various stakeholders to integrate the Transmit WebSDK and Server api policies in their applications.

  • Work with Product Owners, UAT and QA teams to ensure that testing and feedback is completed in a timely manner and meeting the timelines.

  • Ensure application quality and adherence to performance requirements

  • Responsible for documentation, code reuse, re-factoring and design patterns standards compliance

  • Ensure high standards of availability, scalability, and extensibility of internally developed applications

  • Work closely with an experienced staff comprising both Synchrony resources and/or 3rd party contractors

  • Help define measurable goals for the team

  • Communicate the status of technical stacks and initiatives to stakeholders and leadership

  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies while maintaining proficiency in existing technologies

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the applications. create support tickets and work with Vendor as needed.

  • Provide 24x7 on-call support periodically throughout the year.

  • Mentor and influence all levels of the team: in this role, you will have the opportunity to influence up and down the chain of command

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related degree with minimum 7 years' experience in IT with modern application development experience; OR in lieu of a degree, 9 years' experience in IT with modern application development experience

  • 5+ years in any Identity Access Management Platform.

  • Hands on experiences on any IAM Security policies and able to learn WEB SDK call with request/response payloads

  • Working knowledge of Microservices, API gateways, authentication methods including OPEN ID Connect, OAUTH2.

  • Familiar with Multi Factor Authentication

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong working knowledge of the Financial Industry and Consumer Lending

  • Experience in designing and developing applications in Transmit Security platform.

  • Experience in Agile application development methodology

  • Experienced Spring Boot Microservices with creating web services (rest and soap) and consuming web services

  • Strong Experience in developing microservices with 12-factor app methodology

  • Ability to achieve results in a cross-functional matrix organization involving multiple technologies, personnel and processes.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Training and/or Certification in JEE and web-based technologies

Grade/Level: 11

The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
