Guthrie Medical Group, P.C. General and Trauma/Acute Care Surgeon in Corning, New York
Perform surgery on critically ill and injured patients and treat intensive care unit patients, particularly those with acute surgical emergencies, traumatic injuries, severe sepsis, respiratory failure, and advanced multi-organ dysfunction, as well as patients requiring mechanical ventilation, renal replacement treatment and active resuscitation. Perform preoperative diagnosis and screening of the patient and confirm the need for surgery; determine which method of surgery will be most successful; provide patient with postoperative surgical care and treatment; ensure collaboration between surgical team including surgeon's assistant, the anesthesiologist, and operating room nurses; evaluate medical needs of patients, requesting necessary tests and follow-up visits; prescribe medication and treatment plans appropriate for the patient’s condition; provide reasonable on call services and call coverage for patients, cooperating with other physicians and employees to provide such coverage services.Requirements:Must have M.D. or D.O. or foreign degree equivalent, have completed General Surgery Residency and Surgical Critical Care Fellowship training, and have valid New York and Pennsylvania medical licenses.Work Locations:1 Guthrie Drive, Corning, NY 14830;3 Guthrie Drive, Corning NY 14830; 1 Guthrie Square, Sayre, PA 18840Hours: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through FridayReply with resume to: Shannon Anderson, Manager, Provider Recruitment and Retention at shannon.anderson@guthrie.org
