WorkSource Oregon Housing Self Sufficiency Coordinator in Coos Bay, Oregon
REQUIREMENTS: * Must be at least 25 years of age per Vehicle Use policy. * Associate\'s degree, OR Valid Certification and/or training HUD related programs; OR three (3) years of applicable professional-level office experience. * Candidates with preferred experience in case management, social services, or housing-related roles. * Computer proficient, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook. * Must complete National Incident Management System (NIMS) training for NIMS certification as arranged by the Tribes. * Valid driver\'s license, adequate transportation, and eligibility to operate GSA vehicles required. This position may include providing transportation for clients in tribally owned vehicle(s), which may include cars, vans, SUVs and buses. * Ability to address the public and present information in a clear, concise and convincing manner. * Ability to deal effectively with situations that require tact and diplomacy, yet firmness. * Ability to establish and maintain effective and courteous working relationships with other employees, elderly residents and community agencies and other activities that provide services. * Must possess reasonable ability to communicate in English. * This position is subject to pre-employment drug testing. * This is a covered position which requires background check that includes fingerprinting. * Must have employment eligibility in the U.S. * Indian preference will be observed in the hiring process. JOB DUTIES: * Receive referrals for at-risk families. * Assessing clients\' housing needs and financial capabilities. * Develop, implement and monitor individualized case plans for Tribal families. Such case plans must address the safety, health, education, housing, and emotional needs of any family or individuals. * Assist Tribal members in accessing local and state services and programs. * Provide client transportation as needed and approved. * Participate in staff meetings and collaborative department meetings. * Providing support for life skills education and connecting participants to community resources. * Conduct home visits, assess individuals\' potential barriers, provide coaching, and support as needed. * Provide referrals to improve housing retention, stability, quality of life and self-sufficiency. * Maintain strict client confidentiality. * Assist with all reporting for funding sources as well as required internal reporting requirements relating to current grants and funding. * Coordinates with local service providers to ensure that program participants are linked to supportive services needed to achieve self-sufficiency, acts as a liaison between the residents and local service providers. * Provides general case management which includes intake, assessment, education, and referral of residents to service providers in the general community. * Establishes familiarity with community services; maintains updated information on health, educational, vocational, and social services; maintains a network of contact persons in community organizations and government benefits programs for potential referrals.
