Plant Controller

What youll do. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Plant Controller is a key position in a small but dynamic and integrated finance team. As a self-motivated individual living in or within commuting distance of our office, you have efficient communication skills and enjoy being a team player focused on attention to detail. You are comfortable with and able to work well in a deadline-oriented environment, including the ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with a wide range of both finance and accounting processes, with a primary focus on the day-to-day accounting and financial management of projects. This role will be a changing role as we are going through implementation of our new ERP system.

Responsibilities
- Manage all financial and accounting activities for the plant.
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the local Accounting/Finance department.
- Prepare annual forecast and budgets.
- Monitor, analyze, and report monthly actual results against the budget.
- Prepare, analyze, and maintain the companys WIP schedule.
- Manage monthly closing process including, account reconciliations, account analysis, preparation of monthly financial statements and other management reports.
- Participate in the implementation / process improvements in the ERP system.
- Interface with internal and external auditors on SOX compliance and documentation.
- Develop new inventory management procedures with the operations team.
- Cash management and reporting.
- Monitor / analyze production costs and communicate areas for improvement to management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelors degree in accounting
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, preferably in the construction or manufacturing industries
- CPA license
- Excellent attention to detail, and strong analytical/problem solving skills
- Experience with SAP, EPICOR (or other similar ERP), US GAAP
- Experience with project tracking IT systems
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to adapt to system or procedural changes as they come up
- A proactive attitude and flexible approach to workflow changes are essential for this role
- SOX exposure is an asset
