Job Summary

The Maxis Manager utilizes a predictive software tool to optimize product procurement and market merchandising for on-campus convenience markets. This role requires a strategic and analytical mindset to ensure that data-driven decisions positively impact sales and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Predictive Procurement & Merchandising Strategy:

  • Leverage predictive software to analyze purchasing trends and optimize product procurement decisions.

  • Implement and refine merchandising strategies to meet market demands and sales objectives.

  • Ensure inventory levels and product selection meet consumer needs while maximizing profitability.

  • Monitor and adjust procurement strategies based on sales data and market analysis.

Fresh Food Assortment & Procurement:

  • Oversite fresh food procurement from Canteen’s network of commissaries in collaboration with procurement and customer service managers.

  • Utilize reporting to dictate and adjust inventories daily and weekly to minimize fresh food spoils.

  • Build plan-o-grams and enforce merchandising standards for branches within the region.

  • Analyze margin versus spoils on individual fresh food items by account and push recommendations to customer service and procurement managers.

  • Market Refresh Leadership:

  • Plan and recommend markets within the region for refreshes.

  • Oversee ordering of market refresh materials, including marketing, fixtures, and lighting.

  • Ensure operations teams communicate with clients and execute market refreshes in client locations.

  • Submit market refresh photos and required information for approval by the Director of Markets and VP of Channel and Product.

Sales Impact & Performance Reporting:

  • Analyze data and report on the impact of predictive procurement decisions on sales performance.

  • Utilize data-driven insights to continuously improve product selection and merchandising strategies for all categories, including fresh food.

  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and identify areas for improvement.

  • Ensure compliance is being met within the region.

Decision-Making & Communication:

  • Make assertive, informed decisions based on software insights and market trends.

  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to align procurement and merchandising efforts.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive alignment on strategic initiatives.

  • Present findings and recommendations to branch operations leadership and cross-functional teams.

  • Provide clear and concise reports and updates to leadership on procurement and merchandising trends.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, merchandising, or sales operations, preferably in the convenience store sector.

  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with experience using predictive analytics tools.

  • Excellent decision-making skills with the ability to act assertively and strategically.

  • High proficiency in computer systems, data analysis, and reporting tools.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, presenting complex data in an understandable format.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in retail, CPG, or convenience store procurement and merchandising.

  • Knowledge of market trends and consumer purchasing behaviors.

  • Familiarity with advanced analytics platforms and sales forecasting tools.
