TEKsystems Zenoss Monitoring Engineer in Columbus, Ohio
Description:
• Monitoring engineer – Zenoss and Python are must have skills
• Other monitoring tools – SolarWinds, New Relic, Datadog, Dynatrace, HP OpenView, etc. is great to have – infra monitoring tools
• Think about where we are going – python and scripting is important because of automation
• JavaScript, Ansible, PowerShell, RunDeck – great to have
• Newer monitoring technologies – OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Event Streams – nice to have as well as those could be where we go next
• We will be looking to modernize eventually
• Ideally it would be experience with Zenoss cloud, but if they only have Zenoss on Prem or core that is fine
• Should have version 6 or higher
• This role is primarily to work with Zenoss, but it interacts with ServiceNow event management, someone who understands ServiceNow, for app monitoring we use Dynatrace
• Because we have been doing migration for months we have a backlog of onboarding new systems, change how we do monitoring on some of our infra, manually or they can script that
• Be able to talk to the Zenoss API
JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client has an established enterprise practice and is looking for an experienced engineer.
The team is responsible for enterprise infrastructure monitoring.
Selected candidate will help:
Design, build and manage enterprise monitoring solutions from various vendors
Design, build and manage tool integrations with ServiceNow and other tools.
Write, document, and maintain Python scripts to perform API calls and other essential tasks.
Work directly with platform engineers, infrastructure owners, architecture, and management to understand requirements and develop solutions to meet those requirements
Must Have:
5 years experience in installing, configuring and supporting monitoring solutions on an enterprise scale
Strong understanding of large-scale applications, network architectures, micro-service architecture, monitoring and fault management
Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Experience with Zenoss, Solarwinds, Openview, or other enterprise monitoring solutions
Python programming experience
Demonstrated ability to work remotely.
Excellent communication skills
